Background:

The Myotonic industry has been growing by leaps and bounds since shows started (the end of 2006). A major limiting factor to growth as a breed, however, has been show results. The major registries have had limited abilities to view, search, and cross-reference shows entries. Additional problems include lack of standard (HTML files, Word documents, and PDFs) are available with the Myotonic Goat Registry, and for some shows, it’s nearly impossible to find who judged, or even an entry list. With the International Fainting Goat Association, a show list can’t even be found. In short, things needed to change.

Vision:

In November of 2011, I began writing a program to solve these issues. My original goals were:

  1. Users should be able to look up records by the goat and by the show.
  2. Users must be able to search by the goat’s name, and registration number; show names must be searchable.
  3. Offspring Reports with a show history.
  4. Photos of wins.
  5. Discrepancies should be highlighted.
  6. Shows through the Fainting Goat Guild, a non-registry show sanctioning group, should be shown along side other show records.

Future:

New features are being frequently added, however getting all current shows into the database takes priority. If you have a feature you’d like to see, use the Contact Us link above to let us know!
